SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Julia Baeumken of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team has been named The Southern Conference (SoCon) Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
This is the first SoCon Player of the Week recognition of her career and first for the program since Lulu Leethem earned the award on March 12th, 2025.
Baeumken carded rounds of 69-72-71 for an overall score of two-over-par (212) in the three-day event at the Evie Odom Invitational, from Oct.16-18, placing in a tie for seventh.
On Monday, the Spartans hosted the UNCG Collegiate where Baeumken turned in rounds of 73-72-73 for a two-over par (218). She paced the team by finishing in third-place, leading the Spartans to earn first place in the UNCG Collegiate.This is the best finish for the Kiel, Germany, native since 2023-24 season where she finished third in the French Broad Collegiate.
"I'm so blessed to be named SoCon Golfer of the week." said Baeumken "I can't describe the excitement that the hard work has finally paid off. I can't wait for what will come next. I'm very fortunate to be part of the UNCG women's golf program."
