Women’s Golf Sits in Fourth After Day One of Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team concluded day one in fourth place after the first two rounds of play at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, hosted by Appalachian State on Monday at Mimosa Hills Golf Club.  
  
TEAM  

  • UNCG led off the day with a score of 28-over-par (316) to head into round two in sixth place. The Spartans bounced back in the second round, carding the best score of the day with a seven-over-par (295) for a 35-over-par (611) on the day.  

  • Charlotte is pacing the 12-team leaderboard with a 25-over-par (601) with rounds 298-303.  

  • UNCG is tied for first in the field with 23 birdies in the tournament.  

INDIVIDUAL  

  • Lulu Leetham leads the way for the Spartans with a seven-over-par (151), behind rounds of 80-71. Leetham jumped 28 spots in round two with the second-best round in the tournament so far.  

  • McIlvaine is tied for seventh in the tournament in total pars with 22.  

  • Sophie Lauture  sits in a tie for 17th place with a 10-over-par (155) with round scores of 77-78.  

  • Elle Burnette rounded out the scorecard in a tie for 29th place with a 14-over-par (159) behind scores of 82-77.

The Spartans will conclude the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate with the third and final round on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
