GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG student-athletes took part in the annual APPLE Conference in Reston, Va., which promotes student-athlete wellness and substance abuse prevention. The conference is put on in conjunction with the University of Virginia.

The goal of the conference was to assist colleges in promoting student-athlete health and wellness by empowering teams of student-athletes and administrators to create an institution specific action plan. The Spartan team was comprised of women's soccer student-athletes Hannah Hoeksema, Georgia Brown, Ashley Eddleman, men's cross country student-athlete Dylan Belles and administrators Ashley Frazier (Institute to Promote Student-Athlete Health & Wellness) and Jennifer Robbins (Director of SASS).

The team (named “Team Coalition”) submitted a video for a contest and won an award for being the most “liked” and “shared” on social media.  The theme for the video was “It's a slam dunk, never drive drunk.” A link to the video is available at the top of the page.
