Women's Soccer Signs Goalkeeper Jamie Phelps

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women's soccer team has added incoming freshman Jamie Phelps (Southlake, Texas/Southlake Carroll) for the 2015 season, head coach Michael Coll announced Monday.

“Jamie comes from a very strong ECNL club program with the Dallas Texans,” Coll said. “In high school she had set an impressive shutout record with Southlake Carroll in the Dallas area. She is extremely goal driven and will bring her competitive and hardworking mindset to our team. We can't wait to get started with her this fall.”

Phelps played four seasons for Southlake Carroll high school and set a new school record with 40 career shutouts. She helped her team reach the 5A quarterfinals and was District 4-5A champs after going 23-2-1 in 2014. In 2014, Phelps had 18 shutouts which was the third highest in school history and won the AP Scholar award. She made Academic All-District 4-5A and was the goalkeeper MVP for District 4-5A.

Phelps played club soccer for the prestigious Dallas Texans in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) and was a state finalist in 2013. She helped her team become a regional finalist in 2014 and the team finished fourth in the nation at nationals.
