GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's golf team sits in 11^th place after round one of the Clemson Invitational held at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls. Round two is set for Saturday morning with UNCG starting on hole No. 10 with tee times from 10:00-10:40 a.m. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstatresults.com.

The 65^th ranked Spartans are one of six teams ranked in the top 100 in the latest Golf Stat rankings in the field. Joining UNCG includes host and No. 11 Clemson, No. 41 Michigan State, No. 47 Georgia Tech, No. 52 Louisville, No. 81 UNCW, Boston College, Elon, Furman, Notre Dame, Winthrop and Navy.

UNCG had a tough opening round Friday, posting a season-high 25-over par 313 score to sit in 11^th place overall. The Spartans last posted a 313 score in the spring of 2014, just two weeks before earning an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament. No. 11 Clemson holds the overall lead after recording a 12-under par 276. Austin Langdale of Clemson holds the individual lead with a 5-under par 67 in round one.

Sophomore Josh Stockwell (Aberdeen, N.C./Southern Pines) leads three Spartans tied for 47^th place overall at 6-over par 78. Joining Stockwell at 6-over par 78 was junior Jake McGlone (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin) and senior Taylor Coalson (Dobson, N.C./North Surry).

Freshman Bryce Hendrix (Greenville, N.C./D.H. Conley) is one shot behind at 7-under par 79 to sit in a tie for 52^nd place overall after 18 holes. Senior Luke Haithcock (Burlington, N.C./Williams) rounds out the Spartans' lineup with an 8-over par 80 to sit in 55^th place while junior Riley Davis (Kinston, N.C./UNC Pembroke) carded a 10-over par 82 as an individual in 58^th place.
