Guidry Paces Men’s Golf Through One Round at Blessings Collegiate Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team sits in a tie for sixth place through one round of play at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Monday at Blessings Golf Course in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

TEAM
  • UNCG is tied for sixth place with Washington State after both teams carded a 15-over-par (303) in round one Monday.
  • Host school Arkansas is sitting atop the 10-team leaderboard after the first day with a five-over-par (293).
  • Louisville and BYU are tied for second place with an 11-over-par (299).
  • Kansas State at 13-over-par (301) and Kent State at 14-over-par (302) sit in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
  • UNCG and Washington State are pacing Missouri, Mississippi State and Maryland, respectively.
  • The Spartans are second in the field with a 5.00 average on par five holes and fourth on par four holes with a 4.30 average.
  • UNCG is fifth with 52 pars and sixth with 11 birdies on the day.
INDIVIDUAL
  • Will Guidry is pacing the Spartans after notching an even-par (72) in round one, putting him in a tie for second place on the 55-player leaderboard.
  • Kelvin Hernandez is following closely behind Guidry, sitting in a tie for 11th place after carding a two-over-par (74) on Monday.
  • Guidry and Hernandez carded three birdies apiece on the day.
  • B.J. Boyce is tied for 26th place with a five-over-par (77).
  • Liam Percy sits in a tie for 41st place and recorded an eight-over-par (80) in the first round.
  • Jake Lewis rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans with a nine-over-par (81), standing in a tie for 43rd place.
