WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCG men's tennis dropped a 4-0 decision to the UNCW Seahawks Wednesday afternoon at the UNCW Tennis Courts. The Spartans fall to 7-12 overall with the loss, while UNCW improves to 11-7.
The Spartans dropped two of three doubles matches as they were unable to earn a point. The pair of William Albright (Greensboro, N.C./Grimsley) and Connor Thompson (Atlanta, Ga./Holy Innocents) avoided the sweep, defeating Ignasi de Rueda and Agustin Savarino, 6-3 at No. 1.
UNCG could not score a singles victory as three matches went unfinished, with Jack Burkill's (London, Great Britain/Millfield School) retiring in the second set. Albright dropped No. 3 in straight sets to Savarino, with Warren Bryan (Greensboro, N.C./Longwood) dropping No. 4 with de Rueda.
