SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG men's tennis took to the court against the Southern Conference foe Wofford Terriers Tuesday afternoon. The Spartans won their third-straight match after defeating the Terriers 6-1. UNCG improves to 10-9 overall and 3-3 in Southern Conference matches this season. Wofford falls to 10-7 and 2-2 in league play.

UNCG started the match by taking the doubles point. Marcus Vidgren and Logan Walker improved to 5-3 after defeating Omar Williams and Javi Casasolas, 6-4 at No. 2. In the third flight, Ollie Palmer and Jack Burkill clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Jack Thomas and Lucas Cerbelli, 6-2.

Singles play saw a similar trend as the Spartans won five of the six matches. Nico Grewe put UNCG up 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 over Williams. Reigning SoCon Player of the Week, Connor Thompson, won his 12th-consecutive match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Cerbelli at No. 1. The Spartans clinched the match with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 win by Palmer over Julian Chousa at No. 2. Daniel Hammerstedt outlasted his Terrier opponent, Parks Shoen, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 for a win at No. 5 before Wofford earned their first point at the third flight. Burkill finished the match off with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 win at No. 6.
