GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG women's soccer (5-2-1) fell 1-0 to No. 17 NC State (7-1-1) Wednesday afternoon at UNCG Soccer Stadium. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Spartans.

Kia Rankin scored the game's lone goal in the ninth minute on a sliding kick in the box. Kristina Schuster feed Rankin the ball with a cross from the right corner, and Paige Griffiths also got an assist.

The Wolfpack had a 17-5 and 4-1 corner kicks advantage. Kaley Tucker, Quiqui Hita and Ashton Duty each had a shot on goal.

Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper made four saves.

UNCG will close out the non-conference portion of the season at VCU Sunday at 1 p.m.
