Women's Soccer Falls to Arkansas 3-0 in 2019 Season Opener

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro women's soccer (0-1) dropped its 2019 season opener 3-0 to RV/RV Arkansas (1-0) Thursday night at UNCG Soccer Stadium. The Spartans were able to keep it a scoreless game into the second half, but the Razorbacks broke through with a goal in the 64th minute.

Taylor Malham produced the game-winning goal off a cross into the box from Stefani Doyle. Bryana Hunter added another goal in the 78th minute off a rebound from Abbi Neece's shot from a corner by Parker Goins. Goins got the last goal with six minutes remaining with Anna Podojil picking up an assist.

UNCG returns to action Sunday at 7 p.m. against Campbell for its first road game of the season.

Notes

- Tying a career-high with 11 saves, goalkeeper Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper became the seventh Spartan to record more than 200 career saves, moving past Jamie Simmons (194/2012-13) with 204.

- Arkansas had the advantage in shots (27-2) and corner kicks (10-2).

- Jordin Mosley and Nicole Souply had the two shots for UNCG with Mosley's coming on goal.
