GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) Spartan Club is introducing the Shield Our Future campaign to support Spartan student-athletes during these challenging times.
 
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to place significant financial stress on intercollegiate athletics nationwide and this campaign will help offset the reduced revenue which is estimated at two to three million dollars. This impact represents 16-24% of athletics overall budget.  
 
Now, more than ever, the support of UNCG Athletics through the Spartan Club is crucial to providing a championship experience for our student-athletes. Donors to Shield Our Future will receive triple priority points for their gift through June 30, 2021. We will celebrate our success by hosting an exclusive event when it is safe to gather.  
 
CDC, state of North Carolina and Guilford County mandates restrict attendance at athletic events so we do not anticipate general public sales in 2020-21. UNCG Athletics is asking men's and women's basketball season ticket holders to consider supporting Shield Our Future by donating season ticket balances to the campaign.  
 
Season ticket holders have two other options: Credit the 20-21 season ticket balance toward a 21-22 season ticket purchase (includes home games with Elon, North Carolina A&T and Vermont) or request a refund.

Should capacity restrictions be lifted, UNCG Athletics will prioritize student-athlete families, UNCG students, and 20-21 season ticket holders who donate or roll over their 20-21 balance.
 
The last eight months have created unprecedented challenges for each of us.  Our top priority is to provide transformative experiences for our student-athletes.  We know that Spartan fans will rise to the challenge and Shield Our Future.
 
Note:  December 8 is Giving Tuesday and Shield Our Future is the focus.

Q-When will we be able to attend games?
A- We will follow the Governor's mandates as the state of North Carolina continues to prioritize health and safety. 
 
Q- When will my priority points be calculated?
A- Priority points earned from the Shield Our Future campaign will be effective on July 1, 2021.
 
Q- Will I still get my same seat location if I request a refund?
A- As long as you renewed by the deadline, your seat location will remain the same.
