The Spartans lost out on a crucial doubles point with Nico Grewe and Oliver Palmer falling to No. 26 Jake Munns and Jake Bhangdia 6-3 on court one. The Paladins clinched the doubles point on court two where Alex Zuckerman and Roger Rogowski fell 6-2 to Clarke Wilson and Henry Atlevi. The pair of Hugh Knapp and Jack Burkill claimed the lone Spartan doubles victory on court three with a 6-4 win over James Roelofse and Drew Singerman.

Singles play was split, with both teams winning three of their six matches. Jack Burkill, Roger Rogowski and Hugh Knapp all fell in straight sets to their opponents. Alex Zuckerman picked up his first win of the season, coming out on top 6-3 in the deciding third set against Atlevi. Ollie Palmer fought hard in an impressive three set victory over fellow countryman Jake Munns at the number one singles spot. Nico Grewe claimed his second straight, with a 7-6(3) third set victory taking out Drew Singerman at the number four singles seed.

The Spartans take their first loss of the season moving to 1-1 for the season.

The Spartans face their second Big South opponent of the week on Tuesday, engaging in their first road challenge of the spring at Radford. UNCG has won their last three matchups against the Highlanders, defeating the side 4-3 in the first week of the 2019 season. This match was previously re scheduled from last week due to inclement weather.
