RADFORD, Va. - UNCG men's tennis drops their opening road match of the season 4-3 against Radford this Wednesday.
UNCG lost out on the doubles point after losing matches on court one and court two. The pair of
Nico Grewe and
Ollie Palmer fell 6-3 to Taramonlis and Silva. Radford picked up their second doubles victory on court two where
Roger Rogowski and
Alexander Zuckerman lost 6-2 to Sirous and Magalhaes. The lone Spartan doubles victory came on court three with
Hugh Knapp and
Cooper Wyett beating Raptis and Crane 6-4.
Singles play was tightly contested with Teramonlis getting the better of Knapp on court one 6-1, 6-2.
Roger Rogowski then fell on court four to Silva 6-4, 6-2. UNCG fought hard to get back in the match, with
Nico Grewe leading that fight with a 6-4, 7-5 victory on court three against Magalhaes.
Cooper Wyett finished just after, winning 6-1, 7-6(5) against Varga. However, Radford managed to clinch the match on court two where Palmer lost out to Sirous 6-3, 6-7(2), 4-6. Zuckerman completed his comeback to win 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 against Raptis.
