ELON, N.C. - UNCG softball grabs a pair of wins on Saturday, completing the doubleheader sweep of hosts Elon by scores of 7-2 and 9-3. 

A triple shy of the cycle in game one, Makenna Matthijs urged the Spartans to their first win, driving in four runs off of three knocks in the opening contest. The center fielder would cross home three times as well, tallying her fourth homer of the season on a two-run shot to right-center. Grabbing her seventh winning decision of the year, starting right-hander Morgan Scott tossed her seventh complete game of the year, giving up two runs off of five hits, while striking out 12 Elon batters. 

Game two would play out in similar fashion, with the Spartans jumping out to a five-run lead in the first three innings. UNCG combined for three home runs during the contest, one of which came off the bat of Delaney Cumbie, who finished 3-for-4 with four RBI and a walk, while hitting in the leadoff spot. Kylie Bouplon moved to 5-0 on the season with her complete game performance in the circle, striking out five and giving up four hits. 

The Spartans move to 13-6 on the year, earning a victory in eight of their last nine contests over the past two-plus weeks. Cumbie and Matthijs are now tied with Kayleigh Willis for a team-high 16 RBI on the year, with the former slugging .627 on the year.
