UNCG Student-Athletes Enjoy Strong Semester In Classroom

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Successfully navigating the challenges brought on by COVID-19 and transitioning to exclusively online classes, UNC Greensboro student-athletes shined in the classroom during the Spring 2020 semester by achieving a 3.45 grade point average.

Spartan student-athletes displayed strong character and diligence while persevering during an unusual semester. UNCG's academic support team under the direction of Kristin Rusboldt displayed resourcefulness and met every student-athlete needs in order to ensure their success.

This was the 13th consecutive semester in which UNCG student-athletes had at least a 3.0 grade point average. There were 188 UNCG student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.0 GPA this past semester. Twenty-seven Spartans had a 4.0 spring semester GPA.

"These last two months weren't easy for anybody," UNCG Director of Athletics Kim Record said. "I am proud of our student athletes for their commitment, resiliency and patience in adapting to the changes while remaining committed to doing their best in the classroom. Our academic staff deserves tremendous credit as well for all of their hard work in ensuring our student-athletes were successful during this transition."
