Greensboro, N.C. – UNC Greensboro men's golfers Nick Lyerly and Zack Swanson were named as Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
 
For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40 percent of their team's competitive rounds.
 
Swanson's year was highlighted by winning the Martin Downs Collegiate in February. He was 16-under after sterling rounds of 68-64-68. He was fourth at the Grandover Collegiate after wrapping up the final round with a 70 to finish one over par for the weekend. Another solid effort was a four-over at the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate, which included a 72 in the opening round. Overall, Swanson competed in 22 rounds for the Spartans.
 
This is another honor for Lyerly during his decorated career. The two-time All-Southern Conference selection won the Grandover Collegiate with a three-under par performance highlighted by rounds of 69 and 71. He shot one-under par at the Dorado Beach Collegiate and General Hackler Championship. Lyerly shot even-par at the Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate.
 
"Nick and Zack have always been role models on and off the course of what true students should be," UNCG head men's golf coach Terrance Stewart said. "This is a great honor for them and our program."
