GREENSBORO, N.C. – The money month has arrived for the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team.

The chill in the air is a little crisper. The matches increase in significance. Championships are won.

The Spartans are excited to continue their Southern Conference (SoCon) championship chase when they welcome Mercer to the UNCG Soccer Stadium for a critical match under the lights. UNCG enjoyed a dazzling September in which it went 6-1-1, but like an Instagram story, it's gone.

Though the social media posts and memories will linger forever, it doesn't matter what happened in September anymore.

The Spartans roll into October leading the nation in goals scored with 29. They are also second in goal differential (21), scoring offense (2.90), and total points (85).

The only object of UNCG's affection right now is Mercer.
