Lyerly Wins Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. – Nick Lyerly won the individual title at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate. His effort helped the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team finished second overall Sunday.
 
Lyerly was 10 under par and finished the three-round event with an overall score of 206 (-10). Tommy Lamb finished tied for sixth overall after shooting a five-under 211 for the tournament.
 
The Spartans led the field entering the final round of the tournament. However, N.C. State shot a final-round six-under to capture its tournament by five strokes.
 
Despite a tough final round The Spartans finish the tournament 12-under and finished ahead of Virginia Tech, which finished third, by seven strokes.

How It Happened Round Two
  • Tommy Lamb led UNCG by carding a five-under 67.
  • An eagle on the par-4 405-yard 16th hole highlighted Lamb's round.
  • Lamb was two under on the front nine and three under on the back nine.

  • Jack Marcotte had a hot round for the Spartans, finishing with a four-under 68.

  • Hudson's one-over 73 was highlighted by four birdies and a two-under effort on the front nine.
  • Hudson, Connor, and Marcotte all finished the tournament tied for 29th (218).
