or the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team.
The Spartans will look to return to the win column when they host USC Upstate in a rare late October non-conference match.
This is the penultimate home match for the Spartans. Ironically, this will be a battle of Spartans, a group from the Big South Conference and another from the Southern Conference.
Each program has shutout Radford this season. USC Upstate won 6-0 and UNCG captured a 5-0 win over the Highlanders.
A Look At UNCG
- UNCG is 4-0 against schools from the state of South Carolina this season.
- Theo Collomb leads UNCG with 11 goals.
- J.C. Ngando scored UNCG's lone goal against Belmont on Saturday.
- Ngando has scored in consecutive matches and has four goals this season.
- UNCG hasn't allowed a goal in its last three home matches.
- With one more win over its last four games, UNCG will reach double digits in wins for the first time since it won 10 contests in 2017.
- It will also be the first double-digit win season under third year head coach Chris Rich.
- UNCG had 22 shots against Belmont, and 45 over its last two matches.
A Look At USC Upstate
- Upstate lost to Winthrop, 3-2, in its last outing on Wednesday, Oct. 13
- Scoring from the penalty spot in the 9', Mario Arrocha tallied his sixth goal of the season—his third via penalty kick this season.
- His three PK goals in 2021 are the most by a Spartan in the Division I era (2007-pres.).
- Adding a goal in the 45', Brody Williams scored his first career goal, becoming the fourth Spartan this season to collect their first career goal, joining Hayden Anderson, Elias Ehlin, and Alvaro Martin in scoring their first career goals in 2021.
- Collecting 10 saves against Winthrop, Luca Bulfon tied a career-high as he posted his second career double-digit save match.
