GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team competes in the ITA Division I Men's Carolina Regional championship in Cary. The event is hosted by Duke University.
The five-day tournament begins Friday and concludes on Tuesday. Scheduled to compete for UNCG are
Nico Grewe,
Alexander Zuckerman,
Roger Rogowski and
Hugh Knapp. They will play singles and doubles. The Spartans are guaranteed a minimum of two matches.
"This is the first chance we have to see these four guys together," UNCG head men's tennis coach
Jeff Trivette said. "They have reached a very high level and we are excited to go play some of the best players in our region. It will be a challenging weekend, but hopefully, we'll get a chance to see what our next level could look like? We've had a great fall. Our last two events will really test us."
Each member competing this weekend has had a shining moment for the Spartans. This past Sunday, the doubles tandem of Grewe and Zuckerman won a match at the UNCG Fall Invitational. They have each won a pair of singles matches during the fall. Knapp has been victorious three times in singles competition.
Meanwhile, Rogowski has shined especially in doubles. He has been a member of five winning doubles teams during the fall. He has also won a pair of singles matches.
