GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer team was defeated Friday night at the UNCG Soccer Stadium with a score of 2-1 against East Tennessee State University in Southern Conference (SoCon) play.
The Spartans' senior goalkeeper
Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper stopped six shots in the game putting her name on top of the UNCG record books for career saves, with 349.
From Tyler-Cooper on her record breaking
"I am super honored. My teammates push me beyond my limits. Coming in my freshman year and not really being used to the goalkeeper training environment, getting that one-on-one work, I want to give a big shoutout to (assistant coach) Stef for pushing me these past couple of years. She saw something in me, and they took a chance on me my freshman year and I can't be more thankful for them seeing that in me and training every day and having these girls come in and shoot at me. I am really honored, and I couldn't do it without everybody here because they push me to be better. They tell me that I can do better, so I do better for them."

From the Tyler-Cooper
On the Game
"We knew that today was going to be a tough one. We were both fighting for those points to get into the quarterfinals next week, so it's going to be a battle from start to finish. There are moments that we play really well and there are good things that I can see that still gives me hope about the tournament. It doesn't matter at this point because we are all making it to the tournament, it is just about how much you want it at the end of the day. I think we are going to be ready for it no matter what. We just have to find another level for us."
On final regular season game on Sunday
"We've worked as hard as we could this whole season, this whole year. We were the underdogs coming in, every single game. Stepping on this field one last time, it is going to be big. I have cherished every moment I have had with all my teammates and hopefully we can get three points on Sunday and hopefully push us to Tuesday or Friday next week."
