GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nick Lyerly continued his fantastic play during the opening day of the Grandover Invitational Saturday at the Grandover Country Club.
The reigning Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week carded a six-under 66 to lead the UNC Greensboro (UNCG). The second round was suspended because of darkness and will continue Sunday morning followed by the final round.
There were 12 golfers needing to finish a maximum of two holes for the second round to be completed.

How It Happened Round One
- UNCG shot a first round 283.
- Lyerly had four of his six birdies on the front nine where he finished four under 32.
- Competing as an individual, Andrew Graham fired a two-under 70.
- Graham clustered his birdies on holes five, six, and eight.
- Connor Brown, Tommy Lamb, Jack Marcotte, and Symon Balbin finished with an even par round.
- Brown's round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 555-yard sixth hole.
