CONWAY, S.C.- The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball team's second-half surge was not enough as they fell to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, 53-41, on Friday afternoon.
Freshman
Isys Grady was the lone Spartans to have a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. This was her first career double-double
HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Spartans held a two-point lead for 10 seconds after Boyd sunk two free throws.
- The Spartans came into the second half ready to show everyone who they really are.
- A big 3-pointer from CeCe Crudup started an 11-point run that included Nitzan Amar, Nia Howard, and Isys Grady.
- The Blue and Gold closed the third quarter down by nine.
- It was all Jaylynn Brown for the first four minutes of the final quarter. The senior put up a 3-pointer and a two-point jumper, to bring UNCG to within, 40-31.
- Nia Howard and Grady joined in on the scoring, each putting up two to slice UNCG's deficit to 42-35.

BY THE NUMBERS
- The 12 points was the fourth consecutive game Grady finished in double-digits.
- Crudup went 2-for-2 from behind the arc.

QUOTES FROM UNCG HEAD COACH TRINA PATTERSON
"
Isys Grady played really well. 23 turnovers are a lot to force. We had a shaky start, but we'll go back to the drawing board and reassess for Gardner-Webb on Sunday."
UPCOMING
UNCG will close out the Coastal Carolina Tournament with a Sunday morning game against Gardner-Webb. The game is set for 11 a.m.
