ABOUT THE SPARTANS
- UNCG lead the Southern Conference in six statistical categories: hitting percentage (.218), opponent hitting percentage (.162), assists (12.08), kills (13.33), blocks (2.28), and digs (17.65).
- Kayla White earned her second Player of the Month honor for the month of October. She finished the month with a 4.15 kills/s average, 18 service aces, and 21 total blocks.
- Gabriela McHugh continues to lead the nation in total assists for the season with 1,096.
- Brittany Wood and Elayne Grisbee each set career highs this past weekend. Wood finished with 20 kills against Furman, while Grisbee finished with 16 kills against Wofford.
SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- WCU is 11-14 overall and 7-7 in the Southern Conference after splitting a pair of home matches last weekend. WCU dropped a 3-2 decision on Friday against Wofford before a 3-0 triumph over Furman on Saturday.
- The Catamounts enter the week tied for fourth place in the league along with ETSU and Samford and split the season series against both teams.
- Sophomore Destinee Dorsey continues to lead the league in digs per set with 5.07, which ranks 23rd among NCAA Division I student-athletes.
- Senior Merry Gebel and freshman Bailey Hartshough both rank in the SoCon in kills per set with average of 3.64 and 2.89 kills per set, respectively.
