Grady Records Third Double-Double in 56-52 Loss to Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's basketball freshman Isys Grady tallied the third double-double of her career in a tough 56-52 setback to Davidson Saturday night at John M. Belk Arena.
 
Grady was second on the team with 10 points, while she led the game with 10 rebounds.
 
Senior Jaylynn Brown led the Spartans with 11 points, shooting 5-for-10 in field goals.

How It Happened
  • Grady scored the first basket of the game, 2-0.
  • This was the third time this season that she scored first for the Spartans.
  • The Wildcats quickly responded with Cassidy Gould's first of three three-pointers to take the advantage, 3-2.
  • UNCG closed the second quarter with a 9-0 run with field goals from graduate student Aja Boyd, Grady, and Brown and the Spartans' first three-pointer of the game from graduate student CeCe Crudup.
  • The Blue & Gold went to the locker room with its largest lead of the half, six, 25-19.
  • UNCG went on a 10-3 run to begin the third frame, 35-22, with scores from four different Spartans.
  • The Spartans held a 13-point lead twice in the third quarter, 35-22 and 37-24.
  • UNCG tied the game for the fourth time at 51 with a good free throw by graduate student Pernilla Sorensen with 2:18 left in the frame.
  • The Wildcats' Gould put up her third three-pointer of the game and Issy Morgan's jumper put Davidson up by five, 56-51, with 1:31 left.
  • Redmond's free throw cut the deficit to four, 56-52, with 32 seconds remaining.

  • Grady scored in double figures for the eighth time this season.
  • She led the team in boards and was second on the team in points.
  • Brown, who had four rebounds, scored double digits for the fifth time this season.

  • Junior Amber Redmond and freshman Nasia Powell put up seven points each.
  • Redmond hit a season-high in points.
  • Sophomore Khalis Cain tallied UNCG's only two blocks of the game.
  • Chloe Welch led the way for the Wildcats with 15 points, while Sarah Konstans recorded a team-high seven rebounds.  
  • UNCG is 28-22 all-time against Davidson.
