LEXINGTON, Va. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team dropped an 88-77 decision to Virginia Military Institute in a Southern Conference contest at Cameron Hall on Wednesday.
Isaiah Miller led the Spartans with 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. His second steal led to a dunk that brought UNCG to within, 74-67, with 4 minutes, 3 seconds remaining. That was as close as the Spartans would get.
That steal at 8:38 p.m. Eastern Standard Time also tied Miller with D.J. Thompson (Appalachian State) for second all-time in Southern Conference history. They each have 293 steals.
Also reaching double digits for UNCG was
Keyshaun Langley (11 points) and
Kaleb Hunter (10).
Hayden Koval added eight points and a season-high eight rebounds. He also blocked one shot to increase his career total to 322.
UNCG surrendered a season-high point total to VMI, who also made 14 3-pointers and shot 50.8 percent.
Greg Parham, who scored four points in the first meeting against the Spartans on Jan. 30, delivered a game-high 25 markers on 8-of-19 shooting. Parham also had nine assists. Kamdyn Curfman added 20 points. He made five 3-pointers.
Myles Lewis finished with a double-double for the Keydets with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jake Stephens collected 14 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
