STATESBORO, GA – Tara Bettle led the way for UNCG women's golf on the second day of play of the Strutter Gus Invitational, shooting 223 (+7) and finishing tied for second in Statesboro. Overall, the Spartans finished fifth in Georgia shooting 943 (+79) at the Georgia Southern Golf Course.

The Spartans had their best round of play on day two when they shot 310 (+22) in the third round. Other highlights from the weekend include the event's third best par 3 average (3.37) and Bettle's event-leading 41 pars.

Junior Hailey Joy (T12) came second for the Spartans and shot a 234 (+18). Joy was followed by senior Sara Rydman (T29) at 238 (+22), sophomore Anna Bowman (T55) shot 249 (+33), and freshman Victoria Cook (T62) shot 253 (+37).

What's Next
Head coach Ashley Leonard and her team will head to Kiawah Island, SC, for the Kiawah Invitational from February 28 - March 2.
