Miller Moves Into Third Place on All-Time SoCon Steals List

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- UNC Greensboro (UNCG) senior guard Isaiah Miller scored a team-best 14 points and moved into third-place on the all-time Southern Conference's steals list during a 68-49 setback to Furman at Timmons Arena Monday night.

Sophomore guard Keyshaun Langley added 11 points for UNCG, which saw its seven-game winning streak end. Hayden Koval led the Spartans with six rebounds.

Miller finished with six steals in 30 minutes to move past Brigham Waginger (Western Carolina) and Josh Sharkey (Samford). He has 286 career steals after recording six or more for the second time in three games.

The gifted 6-foot guard had a pair of monster dunks during the game, including one following his fifth steal of the game, which tied him for third on the SoCon All-Time steals list, at 6:06 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Miller raised his career point total to 1,740 points.

Miller's burst of excellence pulled UNCG to within, 38-30 with 17:14 remaining. The Spartans got no closer.

With seven games remaining in the regular season over the next 18 days, UNCG still has some opportunities to tighten some loose ends and achieve its ultimate goal of winning a conference championship.

Records
UNCG            13-6 overall, 8-3 Southern Conference
Furman            12-6, 6-3

Quotable
UNCG head coach Wes Miller on the game.
"We turned it over 15 times and this is a great transition offensive team. Live ball turnovers are going to put you in precarious positions. You can't turn the ball over like that against Furman or anybody for that matter. Turnovers for us tonight, were just one part of the problem for us tonight. There were quite a few. I thought Furman was tougher than us. They beat us to loose balls. They made plays around the basket time and time again and we didn't."
