HOW'S THEIR FORM?
-- UNCG split its opening weekend of SoCon play, dropping a 2-1 decision at ETSU before bouncing back in Cullowhee, with a 2-0 shutout victory over Western Carolina
-- This will be just the third contest of the season for Wofford, who kicked off the 2021 season in SoCon play. The Terriers opened with a 2-0 shutout win at home against The Citadel, before falling 2-1 against Mercer
-- Furman is in a similar boat as Wofford, not starting their spring season until March 5th against Mercer. That SoCon opener ended in a 2-1 overtime win for the Paladins, who went on to defeat the Citadel 1-0 two days later
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
-- Outside of Mercer and The Citadel, two teams that played in the fall,
Ashley Avelino is tied for a SoCon-high with her two goals. The centerback scored her first career goal last Friday at ETSU before tallying her second just two days later at Western Carolina
-- Senior
Aiyanah Tyler-Cooper's clean sheet against WCU was already her second of the season, after shutting out NC State earlier in the year. Her 16 career clean sheets are tied for eighth in program history
-- Freshmen forwards have made an impact for the Spartans to start the season, accounting for three of their team's nine points.
Caroline Woods scored her first career goal against Western Carolina on Sunday, while
Hannah Morton assisted on Avelino's tally against ETSU
SCOUTING WOFFORD
-- Forwards Leanna Guion and Rachel Rasins are tied for a team-high three points on the year. Guion scored her team's lone goal against Mercer, while Rasins assisted on that tally
-- Wofford has already used three keepers on the year, with junior Maria Mon getting the bulk of her team's minutes. She played one half of her team's clean sheet against The Citadel and leads all Terriers with seven saves on the year
SCOUTING FURMAN
-- Isabella Gutierrez and Ellie Laxer are tied for a team-best with three points apiece on the season. All of Laxer's points came against Mercer, while Gutierrez was responsible for the game-winner against The Citadel
-- Furman has used a keeper by committee gameplan this season, with sophomore Nora Sampson (90) and freshman Addison Corn (105) splitting minutes between the posts. Sampson has started both games for the Paladins this season, but Corn is yet to surrender a goal in 2021, while making a team-high six saves
SERIES HISTORY
-- The Spartans are undefeated when facing Wofford, going 24-0-4 against the Terriers all-time. They have won each of their last three meetings
-- UNCG has a winning record against Furman as well, sitting at 17-15-3 when facing the Paladins. Furman has won each of the past two contests against the Spartans, but are 0-3 when facing UNCG outside of South Carolina since 2016
