MACON, Ga. - UNCG won the doubles point, but host Mercer swept all six singles matches for a 6-1 victory over the Spartans in a Southern Conference men's tennis match at the LeRoy Peddy Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans (1-8 overall, 0-4 SoCon) swept all three doubles matches from Mercer (4-11, 1-1) to claim the doubles point.
Roger Rogowski and
Cooper Wyett got the run started for UNCG with a 6-3 win over Sam MacLeod and Andrew Branicki at second doubles.
The Spartans'
Hugh Knapp and
Christopher Johns clinched the point with their 6-4 victory over Michael Durham and Samuel Barrow at third doubles.
UNCG's
Nico Grewe and
Ollie Palmer finished off the sweep by edging Lucas Wayeburg and Hugo Lobo 7-6 at first doubles.
