• UNCG is 2-4 against UNCW since 2012 but the Spartans have won each of their last two meetings with the Seahawks, coming out on top 5-2 and 6-1 in 2020 and 2018 respectively

THE SPARTANS
Hanna Giddings has started the season on a six-match win streak in singles play, with five of those wins coming while playing the opponent's No. 3 and a single victory while competing at the No. 2 seed
• The Spartans have lost their last two matches but opened the 2021 spring season on their best start in over 15 years, winning four straight against Norfolk State, Western Carolina, Radford and NC Central. UNCG went 19-5 in singles play during that run to start the year
Brianna Gomez' four singles wins trails only Giddings for a team-high, going 3-2 in the second seed and winning her lone match on court one this year, against NC Central

THE PALADINS
• Furman has ranked as high as No. 24 in the ITA Tennis rankings this year, and currently sit at No. 34 nationally. The Paladins' top individual, senior Katarina Kozarov, is seventh in women's singles this season, and is 15-1 overall. She has combined with junior Julia Adams for a 13-2 record in doubles play, as the pair ranks 16th in the country
• The Paladins are 13-6 on the year, but five of those losses have come to top-25 or power-five programs. The side already has two top-25 wins with victories against previously-ranked No. 16 Wake Forest and No. 18 South Carolina, and has taken decisions against Clemson, Virginia Tech and Alabama this year

THE SEAHAWKS
• Sophomore Zoe Huffman leads UNCW with four singles wins in 2021. She is 3-1 when playing as her team's sixth seed and has won her lone matchup at the No. 5 spot
• UNCW is 5-6 on the year, most recently blanking Methodist University 7-0 this past Saturday. The Seahawks are 1-1 when playing as the hosts this spring, and have not won in Wilmington since January 30th against NC Central

COMING UP NEXT
