GREENSBORO – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) volleyball team concludes its 2021 campaign by hosting in-state foe Western Carolina on Sunday and Monday.
Sunday's match starts at 6 p.m. and Monday's match begins at 5 p.m.
Western Carolina have won its last four matches in three sets, including 3-0 over Wofford last Thursday.
The Spartans have been led all season by senior
Maria Esch, who leads the team with 3.18 kills per set which ranks sixth-best in the league.
Jenna Wiggs has a team-best 3.25 digs per set.
Esch has 191 kills this season and
Hannah Knier has 100 kills.
Brittany Wood has 94 kills for the season.
Haven McPeek has had at least 20 assists in her last four games, including a career best 29 in a 3-2 loss to The Citadel last week.
WCU is 9-7 on the season and 9-5 in league play. The Catamounts have already qualified for the four-team postseason SoCon Tournament.
In Thursday's win over Wofford, junior
Merry Gebel paced the Catamount offense with 12 kills and three service aces. Freshman
Julia Gardon tallied 11 kills. Senior
Hannah Price dished out a match-best 33 assists while freshman
Destinee Dorsey led the team with 17 digs.
