CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - In its final road contest of the SoCon season, UNCG women's tennis was handed a 6-1 loss to Chattanooga on Monday, with freshman Juliana Craft delivering her second straight singles win.

UTC collected the doubles point for the early lead. The home team grabbed a 6-4 win on court three, before Hanna Giddings and Sophia Adams evened things with a 6-4 win against the Mocs' top pairing. Chattanooga claimed the first point on a 6-3 win at the No. 2 however to take a lead into singles play.

The Mocs made it 3-0 with straight set wins at the third and fourth seeds, but Juliana Craft would give her side a fighting chance with her three-set victory at the No. 5. Craft took the opening frame 6-4 before conceding the second by the same score, bouncing back with a decisive 6-2 victory in the third.

Brianna Gomez and Eugenia Camacho forced an extra set on courts one and six respectively, but were unable to grab a win in the third. Sophia Adams forced a tie-breaker against Chattanooga's No. 2, with the UTC opponent claiming a 7-4 win in that contest.

The Spartans will wrap up SoCon play and their home schedule this coming Wednesday against Mercer. UNCG athletics will be commemorating the careers of Sophia Adams, Eugenia Camacho, Tayah Cross, Brianna Gomez and Emily Ory before the senior day match, as the five compete in the final home competition of their Spartan careers.
