RICHMOND, Va. - UNCG women's tennis puts a wrap on the 2021 spring season, taking a 4-1 loss at Richmond this Saturday.
UNCG women's tennis dropped the doubles point on the afternoon, with
Tayah Cross and
Emily Ory coming within two games of their opponents on court three, in a 6-4 final.
Brianna Gomez did claim the two-set victory against Richmond's top individual, grabbing 6-2 and 6-1 victories for her second consecutive individual win. Gomez finishes the regular season with eight singles wins, coming just one shy of
Hanna Giddings for a team-high.
The Spiders grabbed straight set wins at courts two, four and five to claim the team win.
Giddings traded sets with Richmond's No. 3 but saw her potential 10th match win of the season cut short after the Spiders clinched the team win on their fourth point of the day.
