GREENSBORO, N.C. – The real season starts for the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team.
It's the Southern Conference slate and it's the only thing that's paramount to UNCG head coach
Chris Rich. The opponent doesn't matter. Each time the Spartans step onto the pitch in conference competition, they will get everybody's best shot.
Hey, that what happens when you're the reigning SoCon Tournament champions and fresh off a victory over No. 2 Clemson.
The Spartans have a giant bulls-eye on them.
Just the way Rich likes it.
The first challenge is VMI. Ignore the Keydets' 16-match losing streak dating back to last season. It means nothing. They always play UNCG tough so they will have the Spartans complete attention. UNCG is also aware that if it doesn't show up with the same level of respect, focus, and intensity it had in beating Clemson earlier this week, anything can happen.
