GREENSBORO, N.C. – On day one of the three-day Bryan National Collegiate, graduate student
Tara Bettle led the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team with a one-under 71 on Sunday, tying for 11
th overall.
From Tara Bettle
"My ball striking was very solid today, which gave me many realistic birdie opportunities. Unfortunately, I could only convert one of these chances, but I was able to knock down two other birdies after I hit my wedges to tap-in distance on hole 11 and 15. It was a fun first day playing our home tournament and having so many people come out and support us!"

From Head Coach Ashley Leonard
"We got off to a solid start and struggled coming in. We are still in good shape to move up the leaderboard tomorrow and try to gain some ground on teams ahead of us. Tara had another solid day today shooting 71 and very proud of Anna firing her best round in competition today. Hailey also hung in there today and made a good comeback on the last six holes to shoot 74. I fully expect our team to come out with some energy and fight tomorrow as we try to make a move."
