GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro men's soccer team concludes a season-opening four-match home stand when it welcomes Saint Joseph's University in a matinee.

It'll be the first ever meeting between the Spartans and Hawks from Philly by way of the Atlantic-10 Conference. For those not familiar with Saint Joseph's, the Hawk mascot is one of the most iconic in all of college athletics as it continuously flaps its arms (wings) during the entirety of a Saint Joseph's sporting event. The mascot is on a full scholarship.

No word if the Hawk will be in attendance on Sunday.

Either way, the Spartans are looking forward to getting back on the pitch after beating Stetson Friday, 3-2, in a nail-biter. The triumph was UNCG head coach Chris Rich's 20th at the helm of the Spartans. Hey, we like round numbers.

Meanwhile, the Hawks are still looking for their first win of the season after falling, 4-1 to Campbell.

SLIGHTLY FAMILIAR
UNCG graduate student Theo Quartey is the only Spartan vaguely familiar with Saint Joseph's. After all, he transferred from Villanova. Ask anybody in the Philly area about the Saint Joseph's-Villanova rivalry. Anyway, Quartey played against Saint Joseph's as a freshman in 2017 as a member of the Wildcats during a 3-0 victory on Sept. 19.

IN THE CORNER
UNCG has used the corner kick to its advantage this season. The Spartans have scored goals off corner kicks in consecutive matches. The combination of Theo Quartey and Angel Bacho have been lethal.

BACHO BEASTIN'
Junior Angel Bacho has enjoyed a solid start to the 2021 season for the Spartans. He has a goal and a pair of assists. He scored against Gardner-Webb and added two assists against Stetson. He recorded the assist on Matthew Skinner's game-winning goal. He is second on the Spartans with four points.

DOUBLE TROUBLE
In its last two matches, UNCG has gotten goals from the Skinner brothers. Joey, a freshman, scored against Gardner-Webb. Matthew, a junior, scored the winning goal with six minutes remaining during Friday's 3-2 win over Stetson. Joey was also named the ECNL Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year after helping his club team, Charlotte Independence to a championship.

COLLOMB TWICE AS NICE
For all his brilliance, Friday was the first time in his career that Theo Collomb enjoyed a multi-goal game. He scored twice in the first half to help UNCG take a 2-0 intermission edge. He has three goals this season and 11 for his career.

A LOOK AT SAINT JOSEPH'S
Junior James Fletcher scored his first collegiate goal Friday night as the Saint Joseph's men's soccer team (0-3) fell to Campbell (2-1), 4-1. Campbell scored the lone goal of the first half as Diego Konincks scored in the lower left corner after passes from Anass Amrani and Sami Amal. Fletcher's was the first for the Hawks on the 2021 campaign. Graduate student Omry Perel assisted on the goal. Saint Joseph's also has suffered one-goal setbacks to Marist and Long Island.

PACK UP THE BAGS
UNCG hits the road for the first time in 2021 when it makes the two-hour trip south across the North Carolina border to meet Winthrop in Rock Hill on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. In an odd twist, all of UNCG's non-conference road games are out of the state.
