GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's soccer, who finished fourth in the Southern Conference (SoCon), will open tournament play with No. 5 Western Carolina tomorrow, Friday, October 28.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, who earned the No. 1 seed, will act as the host at UTC Sports Complex.
This will be the second time this season that the Spartans and Catamounts face off. The regular season game ended in a tie, 0-0.
This will also be the fourth time in two years that the two teams have played, as they battled in the quarterfinal game last year, as well.
The Spartans and Catamounts have met eight times in SoCon Tournament play, where UNCG holds the record 6-1-1, and the draw resulted in Western Carolina winning in penalty kicks in 2008.
