Men’s Basketball Hosts Towson at Greensboro Coliseum Thursday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team opens its 14th season inside the Greensboro Coliseum Thursday with a non-conference match against Towson. The contest begins a short two-game homestand inside the Greensboro Coliseum before the Thanksgiving holiday.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Spartans dropped a Friday contest to Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) member Miami, 79-65.
  • The Spartans held a one-point lead at halftime and earned a lead as large as seven points in the first half.
  • UNCG saw four players in double-figure scoring: Mikael Brown-Jones (13 points), Keondre Kennedy (12), Bas Leyte (12), and Dante Treacy (11)

THE SCHEDULE AHEAD
  • UNCG boasts 14 home games in 2022-23 with 12 inside the Greensboro Coliseum and the remaining inside Fleming Gymnasium.
  • The Spartans host Sun Belt Conference member Marshall to the Greensboro Coliseum Tuesday, December 13 at 7 p.m.
  • UNCG makes its first of two national television appearances Tuesday, February 7 when the Spartans host East Tennessee State at 7 p.m. in a contest airing on ESPNU.
  • The Spartans will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in Laval, Quebec, Canada, participating in the Northern Classic November 25-27. UNCG will face Montana State, Hofstra, and Stephen F. Austin inside Place Bell Arena.
  • After Thanksgiving, the Spartans travel for a three-game road trip to North Carolina A&T (November 30), Elon (December 3), and Southeastern Conference opponent Arkansas (December 6).
  • UNCG's second national television appearance comes February 18 when the Spartans travel to Chattanooga in a game airing on CBS Sports Network.
