Men’s Basketball Hosts Warren Wilson in Fleming Gym on Sunday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's basketball team returns to Fleming Gym to host Warren Wilson in the Spartans' final home game of the month.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Spartans broke Marshall's nine-game winning streak Tuesday night inside the Greensboro Coliseum with a 75-67 victory over the Thundering Herd.
  • UNCG used a 15-2 second half run to extend its lead, which grew as large as 10 points.
  • The Spartans shot 44.4 percent for the contest but bolstered their field goal percentage in the second half by shooting 51.7 percent from the field.
  • UNCG held Marshall to 36.3-percent shooting in the second half and 37.5 percent for the contest.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
  • UNCG's scoring defense ranks second in the Southern Conference (SoCon) at 67.2 points per game, only 0.1 points per game behind Chattanooga at the top.
  • Kennedy leads the Spartans with 13.9 points per game and stands third in the league with 6.7 rebounds per contest.
  • Keyshaun Langley's 2.5 three-point field goals per game stands sixth in the league. The senior averages 11.9 points per game.
  • Keyshaun's brother Kobe Langley stands fourth in the conference in assists (3.9), second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.9), and second in steals (1.9).
  • Brown-Jones posts 9.9 points per game in nearly 20 minutes off the bench for the Spartans, adding 4.5 rebounds and shooting 56.3 percent from the field.
  • Leyte's 2.5 offensive rebounds per game stands third in the SoCon. The senior also averages 6.6 points per contest.
  • Donovan Atwell has made six three-point field goals off the bench for the Spartans in the last two games. The freshman posted a 12-point performance at ninth-ranked Arkansas on December 6.
  • UNCG outrebounds its opponents, 37.0-35.8, thanks to a 1.2 offensive rebound advantage.
 
SCOUTING WARREN WILSON
  • A new Division III member, Warren Wilson is 1-11 on the season with two Division I contests at Appalachian State and UNC Asheville.
  • The Owls dropped a 99-79 contest to William Peace Friday night at home.
  • Jeremiah Daye leads the Owls with 15.6 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per contest.
  • O'Darius Cade posts 11.8 points per game and 2.6 assists per contest.
  • In its final year in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's (USCAA) Eastern Metro Athletic Conference (EMAC), Warren Wilson finished 2021-22 with a 5-15 overall record and a 3-6 record in EMAC play.
  • Warren Wilson, now members of the Division III Coast to Coast Conference, are picked to finish seventh in their new league.
