Box Score CONWAY, S.C. – For the second straight day,
Hugh Knapp was a winner for the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team during a 6-1 setback to Georgia Southern Saturday. The match was played at Coastal Carolina.
Knapp won both of his matches at No. 3 singles during the weekend to lead the Spartans. He was an easy winner in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3.
UNCG battled in most of its singles matches.
Nico Grewe and
Cooper Wyett fell in straight sets after dropping a tiebreaker in the second set that could've extended the matches. Andrew Zuckerman forced a decisive third set with a 6-2 decision in the second set at No. 2 singles. He fell in a third set tiebreaker.
The doubles matches were closely contested as
Roger Rogowski and Zuckerman lost at No. 1 in a 7-5 tiebreaker.
UNCG returns to action next weekend when it competes against UNCW on Friday, Feb. 19 and Fairfield on Saturday, Feb. 20. Both matches will take place at UNCW.

"Since tennis is all about carving out extra points here and there, I really tried to step up in key moments by being ultra-aggressive. Tennis is a game of inches. Our team is definitely fired up after this weekend. Sure, it stinks to lose but it's a long season and we have plenty of matches left to play. I think our time is coming."
