JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Returning for the second half of its season, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's golf team traveled to Florida for the Sea Best Intercollegiate being played at the San Jose Country Club.
The 18 teams headed out today to complete two rounds, but will wrap up round two tomorrow, before tackling the third round.
After round one scores were submitted, graduate student
Tara Bettle led the way for the Spartans tying for eighth overall shooting 75 (+3).

How It Happened: Round One
- After shooting par on her opening hole and double bogeying the next, Bettle recorded her only two birdies of the round on the 484-yard 17th hole and the 376-yard hole 18.
- Freshman Ava Romfo is the next Spartan on the leaderboard tying for 49th after round one.
- Romfo birdied on the 481-yard, par five hole six and the 392-yard, par four hole nine to finish +3 on the front nine.
- Junior Anna Bowman who is tied for 56th after round two, shot one birdie on the 481-yard seventh hole.
- Freshman Grace Holcomb is tied for 66th overall, totaling two birdies in round one.
- Holcomb's two birdies came on holes two and eight, helping her to a +3 on the front nine.
- Sophomore Victoria Cook is tied for 69th overall.
- Cook shot par on 10 of the 18 holes from round one.
- Freshman Gabriela Cruz is tied for 87th.
- She shot her lone birdie on the 133-yard 12th hole.
- At the end of round one, the Spartans are 12th out of 18 teams totaling 329.
