MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The General Hackler Championship tournament started two hours late because of cold temperatures Sunday afternoon. The 54-hole tournament is being played at the par 72 The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
Pacing the Spartans in the first round was
Randall Hudson's two-over 74. UNCG shot 301 as a team in the first round, which was 14th overall.
Hudson tied for the team lead with two birdies. He had birdies on the second and 14th holes.
Nick Lyerly and
Noah Connor fired a three-over 75. Connor birdied the fourth and 15th holes.
Tommy Lamb finished the first round five-over 77 with a pair of birdies.
Symon Balbin carded a six-over 78 for UNCG.
The second round started late Sunday afternoon and was suspended because of darkness. The Spartans will continue the second round on Monday and then play the final round.
