Spartans Visit Campbell In Mid-Week Match

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team begins a busy week by visiting Campbell in a non-conference match Tuesday afternoon. The match time has been moved to a 4:00 p.m. start and it will be played at the Nesbit Tennis Center.
 
A Look At UNCG
  • The Spartans beat The Citadel, 4-3, last Thursday afternoon.
  • UNCG is 5-9 overall.
  • UNCG is also 2-0 in the Southern Conference for the first time since 2014.
  • In the win over The Citadel, the Spartans got victories from Nico GreweHugh KnappRoger Rogowski, and Christopher Johns during singles competition.
  • The No. 3 UNCG doubles team of Knapp and Cooper Wyett captured a 6-1 win. 
  • Grewe and Knapp lead UNCG with eight singles victories each.
  • The doubles team of Knapp and Wyett are 6-1 this season.
  • UNCG is looking to win consecutive matches for the first time since last April 3 (Davidson) and April 10 (The Citadel).
 
A Look At Campbell
  • The Camels are 9-4 overall.
  • They have won six consecutive matches after beating Gardner-Webb, 5-2, last week.
  • The Camels have won the doubles point in eight-straight matches.
  • They are also unbeaten in Big South Conference play.
  • Campbell's No. 1 doubles tandem of Damien Nezar and Benjamin Maes have won nine consecutive matches.
  • In the win over Gardner-Webb, Pol Otin and Tomas Balazi claimed straight sets singles victories before Leon Petko and Noe Macquart won in three sets.
  • Balazi and Otin lead the Camels with nine singles victories.
  • Robin Angels, Noe Macquart, and Nezar have six singles victories each.
