UNCG Opens SoCon Play Against Samford

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team opens Southern Conference play against Samford on Sunday at 1 p.m.

A Look at UNCG

The Spartans are 3-8 overall.
UNCG dropped two matches to Radford and Tennessee Tech on Thursday and Friday.
David Flisberg was a winner at No. 6 singles against Radford.
Cooper Wyatt and Hugh Knapp won a doubles match at Radford.
Nico Grewe won at No. 1 singles against Tennessee Tech.
Also at Tennessee Tech, Alex Zuckerman and Roger Rogowski were winners in their doubles match.
UNCG has wins over North Carolina Central, Fairfield, and Davidson.

A Look at Samford

The Bulldogs are 2-6 overall.
Samford's wins were against Alabama A&M and Tennessee State.
This is Samford's first match since falling to ETSU, 5-2, on Feb. 27.
Both of Samford's wins against ETSU were at No. 2 and No. 3.
On the No. 2 court, Mohammed Ali Bellalouna won, 6-2, 6-3.
On the No. 3 singles court, Eladio Fabregas, 7-6, 6-1.
Bellalouna leads Samford with five victories.

Up Next

The Spartans will spend a few days in Charleston.
UNCG will visit The Citadel on Thursday, March 10 and The College of Charleston on Sunday, March 13.
