GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team dropped a non-conference battle to No. 10/13 Duke Wednesday night at UNCG Softball Stadium.
The Blue Devils earned the win 11-1 in five innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior pitcher Morgan Scott retired the first three batters, striking them out, and extended the streak to four through the top of the second.
- Duke put up a run in the top of the third on a solo homer to left center.
- UNCG had their first base runner in the bottom of the third with a lead-off double from Grace Loftin.
- In the top of the fourth, Duke broke the game open to 10-0 on seven hits and two errors.
- Another run crossed the plate for the Blue Devils in the top of the fifth.
- The Spartans squeezed a run across in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double from Shipley scoring Ashley Gontram from first.
NOTES
- Morgan Scott struck out seven in the circle.
- Loftin and Jessie Shipley had the lone hits for the Spartans.
- Both were doubles.
- The Blue Devils lead the series 2-0.
