RALEIGH, N.C. – After enduring a delay of nearly an hour at the start of the Stitch Invitational, the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team shot 288 in the first round. The best part was the Spartans finished at even par, which was four strokes behind Notre Dame.
The second round wasn't completed because of darkness. It will be completed Saturday morning prior to the third round.

How It Happened
- Noah Connor and Jack Marcotte led UNCG with a two-under 70.
- Competing as an individual, Marcotte had five birdies.
- Marcotte and Connor were tied for third overall after the first round.
- Marcotte and Connor each shot a two-under 34 on the front nine.
- Nick Lyerly, who was named SoCon Men's Golfer of the Month, shot an even-par 72.
- Lyerly was tied for 18th overall.
- Symon Balbin and Randall Hudson each shot a one-over 73.
- Balbin was one-under 35 on the back nine.
- Balbin, Hudson, and Lyerly had three birdies each.
- Tommy Lamb finished with a five-over 77.
