PRICE KING ON HIS PERFORMANCE
"It was a good feeling to walk across the mound and get six innings. I went in and did my best trying to fill up the zone and let my defense work behind me, but Coach Godwin has been saying since the beginning of the year that you play for the five days in May and this is the time to do it. I was just trying to go in there and throw as many strikes as I could and be competitive."

King pitched 8.0 innings, allowed five hits and one run.

Sam Murchison earned his eighth start of the year in the first game. He pitched 6.0 innings and struck out seven batters and allowed six hits.

FINAL WORDS FROM COACH GODWIN
"I kept telling these guys all year that we had a good club and something clicked the Samford weekend at home and we've played well down the stretch. Then we come here and do this but we still have work left to do. To beat the two and three seed today back-to-back games for a long day says a lot about our kids and how they compete and how resilient they are and how tough they are."

UPCOMING
UNCG will play for its first SoCon Championship since 2017 tomorrow at 12 p.m. against the No. 1 seed Wofford. The Spartans need to win two games in order to be crowned the 2022 Southern Conference Champions.
