NORFOLK, Va. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team began the 2022 season with an exhibition against Old Dominion University at ODU Soccer Complex Friday night.
The Spartans played three 30-minute periods, where
Jack Birch found the back of the net during the final frame.
Steven Hernandez beat a defender to the end line on the dribble and cut back the ball to Birch for a one-time finish for a 1-0 advantage.
"Tonight was a good start to our exhibition games," stated head coach
Chris Rich. "It wasn't perfect, and we have many things we need to work on, but we had a lot of positive moments.
We were able to play all available players, which is always important at this point in preseason. We learned more about each player, and we were able to look at different combinations. We're excited to break down the video as a staff and to keep getting better."
