GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team is ranked seventh in the first United Soccer Coaches South Regional announcement, revealed by the organization on Tuesday.
UNCG also received 23 votes in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll, sitting just outside the top 25 teams in the first installment of the poll this season.
On Monday, the Spartans received a No. 26 ranking from College Soccer News after being ranked No. 29 in the preseason poll.
The Spartans are 2-0 and earned their first shutout of the season last weekend, a 2-0 victory over UNC Wilmington. They also defeated UNC Asheville in their season opener, 5-1. UNCG's record is perfect at home, as it opens the season with four-straight home contests.
